Leicester dropped off in the race for a Champions League place as they fell to a heavy defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The goals were flowing for the home side from the very start. Son hit a shot that seemed to be curling wide of the far post, but a huge deflection off of James Justin caused an early lead for Spurs.

Harry Kane then hit a quick fire double to increase their advantage. His first was set up by a through ball from Lucas Moura, and he was able to guide it into the bottom corner with his left foot. Just three minutes later he got his second; Lucas won the ball off young full-back Luke Thomas and played it to Kane, who held the ball up, cut inside Ryan Bennett and curled it past Schmeichel in stunning fashion to give the hosts a three goal advantage at half time.

The advantage stayed the same for the second half. Leicester tried to breach Hugo Lloris’s goal many times, but none of the players in blue were able to beat the Spurs captain, who put in a great performance.

The result sees Tottenham move up to sixth, well in contention for a Europa League spot. Meanwhile, Leicester will be very disheartened as they lost their goal difference advantage over Manchester United, and will need to beat the Red Devils when they play them on the final day.
