The Kick-Off

Hey, fellow football fanatics!

My name’s Jed, and I am a 18 year old boy who is looking to start up a blog about Premier League Football. I will be posting interviews with people in the football world, match analysis from the games that I watch (with my player ratings and tactical reviews) as well as predictions and other opinions. I am obsessed with analysing football, and aim to provide an unbiased opinion on the teams in English football’s highest division and beyond. I am truly excited about the future of this site, and hope to provide an interesting take on the matches that I cover. Firstly, I’ll give you a bit of background information on who I am.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to both the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal with my Dad AND the Amex Stadium to watch Brighton with my Mum on a relatively regular basis. This has allowed me not to be obsessed entirely with one team, but to gain a huge amount of respect for how the beautiful game can be played. I have witnessed tactical mastermind Arsène Wenger apply a beautiful passing style to an Arsenal team consisting of talented playmakers like Mesut Özil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sánchez, whilst also seeing a drop-back-deep defensive style of play from Brighton. Whilst the play styles of both these teams are drastically different, I have supported, enjoyed and chanted my lungs off to both. This gave me a craving for knowledge, a craving for an understanding of different managers’ play styles and and a craving to know why they used them.

Therefore, I have a passion for all things football. I am always intrigued to see how a team will lineup, excited to watch the play style a manager has created and hungry to devour statistics and facts about every new club I come across, whether that be in the Premier League, Champions League, League Two; if there is a football game on TV, I am eager to watch and learn.

So, what can you expect from my blog? Well, I will be trying to cover and write about as many games as I possibly can. This will include many matches from the English Premier League, as well as any European games that include an English team. If there is a huge game not involving England – like a Champions League final for example – then I will aim to cover that as well. If I have watched the tiki-taka style of Pep’s Man City side, or if I have watched the route one style of Sean Dyche’s Burnley, you can expect an unbiased tactical review of it somewhere on this page. I will also be interviewing some people who work in the football world, and posting regular opinions and predictions.

I hope you are as excited for this as I am.

  1. Lovely interviews with George Cohen and Tony Burns. Good questions delving into their careers. The Tony Burns interview gives a good insight into English players’ participation in the apartheid days. I look forward to reading interviews posted in the future.
